PTFA

The St John Fisher PTFA is a well-established group and integral to the school community.

The St John Fisher PTFA is a Registered Charity which aims to raise money and foster closer links between staff, parents, children and friends in the community.

All money raised goes to help provide resources and experiences for all children of St John Fisher.

This is achieved through organised events and activities.  For 2023/24 we have planned:

Autumn Disco - Friday 13th October 2023

A great evening out for the kids to dance the night away!  Split into two sessions; Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 kick the night off at 5pm until 6.30pm and then Years 3 to 6 get their dancing shoes on from 7pm until 8.30pm.  Tickets are available on ParentPay a few weeks before the event and then names will be on the door.  Drinks and snacks are available to purchase on the night.  Adult supervision is required by a parent/carer or other responsible adult (16yr +) for the duration of the event. The adult must remain on the premises.

Quiz Night – Friday 10th November 2023

A brand new event for the adults only.  A great opportunity to meet other members of the school community and raise a bit for the PTFA at the same time.  Gather a team of 8-10, grab a friend, bring your partner or let us do the work and put you in a team. It will be an evening not to be missed!

Christmas Fair - Saturday 2nd December 2023. 12 noon – 3pm

The best start to the Christmas festivities.  Plenty of stalls inside and out including games, food, drinks, tombolas and definitely a raffle prize or two.  Tickets available on the day.   Everyone is welcome!

Spring Disco - Friday 15th March 2024

Children’s Mini Mudder event - Saturday 18th May 2024

Prepare to get muddy on an obstacle course on the field packed full of fun – and a few surprises!  Non-SJF children are welcome to take part, so bring your friends! Tickets will be available on ParentPay a few weeks before the event.

Summer Fair - Saturday 29th June 2024

Our summer fair is the biggest event of the year and is a great way to get the school community together and raise much needed funds to benefit all our children.  Previous fairs have included a music festival and circus skills.  There will be a variety of stalls including BBQ, toys, bouncy castles, craft, bar, hamper raffle and tombolas. Tickets available on the day.

The Woodland Garden volunteering days

Tens of thousands of pounds have been raised over the past few years, which have been spent on improving equipment and resources to provide a wider and richer experience for our children.  Examples include interactive whiteboards, books, playground equipment, outdoor classrooms and video/photographic equipment.

This year, one of the main aims is to raise much needed funds to further improve our playground and outdoor spaces.  Playgrounds play an essential role in fostering play and collaboration and by investing in our outdoor spaces we will be able to further support outdoor learning and experiences.

The PTFA Committee look after the admin, legal and finance side and have a duty to ensure that the PTFA is run correctly.  The current members are:

-         Ginnie - Chair

-         Ed – Vice Chair

-         Lisa - Treasurer

-         Julia - Secretary

All parents/carers and staff are automatically members of the PTFA and we welcome all members to join our meetings and get involved!
